Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, applicable charges, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification, proof of current address, payment information, and a security deposit must be provided. Please review the Rental Agreement for any extra requirements.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Fleet office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required upon vehicle pickup. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure payment gateways.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage to our staff immediately. A vehicle condition report must be completed and signed at this time. It is essential to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified will be evaluated and additional fees may apply. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling charges will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please contact us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial responsibility. Review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except where additional insurance applies. Damages resulting from negligence or misuse remain your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and modification policies differ based on the booking type and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Vehicles must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in any hazardous maneuvers. Transporting dangerous materials, allowing unauthorized drivers, or sub-letting the vehicle is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and venturing outside designated areas without consent are also not allowed.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Fleet disclaims any responsibility for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may arise from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for the rental within the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Update Notification
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
